Ingredients

  • 5 ounce Wheel of Brie or Camembert
  • 1 cup Shelled Walnut Halves
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (to taste)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cut top off cheese round carefully, trying to leave as much cheese as possible. Put round on parchment lined baking sheet, cut side up. Leave sides and bottom rind on cheese.
  • Cook cheese for 14 - 16 minutes until bubbling or bowed.
  • While cheese is cooking, prep walnuts. Combine walnuts, maple syrup, butter, salt, and pepper if desired, in small saucepan. Bring to a low bubble over medium-high heat.
  • Walnuts are done when the syrup is mostly evaporated, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Platter cheese and mound walnuts on top. Serve immediately with crackers, bread or fruit.
