Fast, easy and made ahead, epic Italian Green Beans are the perfect low carb side for any meal! This casserole takes frozen green beans and morphs them into an Italian flavored favorite that’s perfect for the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 1 Bag Frozen "French Cut" Green Beans (16 oz)
  • 1 medium Red Pepper, cored and sliced
  • 1 medium Onion, peeled and sliced
  • 2 Garlic cloves, smashed
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
  • Red Pepper Flakes to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Allow green beans to thaw, or warm in microwave until no longer frozen, stirring occassionally. 
  • Saute pepper, onion and garlic in olive oil over medium high heat until translucent, about 8 minutes.
  • Combine beans, red pepper flakes to taste and sauteed veggies in medium casserole dish sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over entire casserole.
  • Cook until cheese is melted and brown, about 20 minutes.
