April Showers bring May flowers! You know what Mayflowers bring?
Yep. Pilgrims. Moms are not opposed to an occasional bad joke. Plus, that’s the only one I ever remember.
We are living the April dream here in Erieland. It is RAINY. And getting more green every day. Our lawn looks awesome, but that won’t last. If it would warm up a bit, it would make it all a little more palatable. All of our snowbirds are coming back to threats of snow.
The rain held off at the lacrosse game last night, thank goodness, but it was about 45 degrees and windy. I’ve mentioned the lack of spring here in Erieland – another couple weeks of sullen spring then we bounce into gorgeous (hot) sunny days. I’ll take it.
Weekly Menu 04.28.19 has a hidden celebration:
One of our babies (Middle Son) has been lucky enough to be studying abroad this semester, and we finally get him back this week. His favorite dinner is on the menu Tuesday and we’ll probably add a Birthday Cake since he celebrated (his 21st!) while in France. Longest semester of my life.
On Friday, we’re planning Greek Dogs (and burgers and fries) that we’ll get from a local restaurant affectionately known as The Greeks. I think the real name is Red Hots. Anywho, it’s a real deal – 10 burgers or hot dogs (in any combination) with the vaunted ground beef based sauce for $20. Add in some Greek fries (because you gotta) and it’s carry out Nirvana. We’ve been craving it all lent, but we only think of it on Fridays. Ha!
