I Adore Food

All food – I’m not picky. I enjoy fried food on a stick at the fair almost as much as I like dressing up for a high brow, three star meal at a great restaurant. We like diversity in our weekly menu, and there are things that I am much more likely to eat out than prepare, but I adore it all. I live by Julia Child’s take on food: “Everything in moderation…including moderation.”

Our family life has always revolved around food in some way. I am one of eight children, and our mother was a strict “be at dinner or else” kind of woman; most nights we spent a good deal of time around a custom made, square dining room table, situated fittingly in the family room. The first time my husband was around all my siblings for a weekend golf outing, he was slightly horrified to hear us discussing lunch at breakfast. And a snack stop at lunch. And dinner at the snack stop. He eventually got used to it, which is good, because it has never stopped. Our three sons picked up a healthy appreciation for three squares from their mother. I truly enjoy planning and cooking each meal.

So much of our time is spent shopping for, preparing, eating, and cleaning up from meals, that we might as well enjoy them. And to that end, I created this site which includes (or will include) easy meals and difficult meals. I show meals for a Saturday night in front of a movie and foods that are fun to prepare for family and friends. I’ll also include many corresponding recipes. I spend A LOT of time online looking up food and ways of enhancing meals, and I have no interest in reinventing the wheel. To that end, you might well see links in these posts directing you to a particularly well done item, or just sending you to a few of my favorite sites. More on that as it happens. I’m happy you are here, and would love your comments or suggestions.
