Weekly Menu 01.27.19

The Weekly Menu 01.27.19 uses some old standards to jazz up the week!

I recently saw a meme that said:

“30 days have September, April, June and November, all the rest have 31 except for February alone, which has 28 or 29 on each leap year. And January. January has 764.”

It does seem like January is dwelling a bit. Here in Erieland we slowly ramped up to snow and ice and freezing temperatures. { YIPPEE – NOT!! } So it seems like they’ve been coming on forever. What would we talk about in January if we didn’t have the weather?

We’re starting out the Weekly Menu 01.27.19

with a big salad at the request of Baby Boy. It’s kind of hard to believe that he’s the same kid that sat at the dinner table staring down a solitary pea for 2 hours. It goes to show that everything works out in the end. He still abhors broccoli, but I don’t think he swallows the peas whole anymore.

If you get a hankering for a tasty treat, try our awesome Whole Wheat Blueberry Bars  from the menu this week. We’ll jazz them up a bit by warming them and serving with a scoop of ice cream after Sunday dinner, but they make a nice lunch bag addition during the week.

I’m going to make a really big meatloaf on Monday so we have enough left to make Open Faced Hot Meatloaf Sandwiches later in the week. In the old days that was served on a piece of white bread smothered with brown gravy. I’m hoping to leave out the lumps. No promises though.
