July 4th 2019 – Party Time!

July 4th 2019 Menu is the perfect cap on a day spent celebrating July 4th. Over the years our 4th has grown and morphed into a big party with family and friends all rolled together celebrating the good old US of A. Here in Erieland, we are totally spoiled with the beaches and Lake Erie in close proximity. If you don’t have any water where you are, think of a trip our way! VisitErie will get you started~

The (fingers crossed) beautiful weather mandates outdoor activities, and Wiffle Ball (affiliate link) has become our game of choice. This set is perfect for this Red White and Blue holiday!

Wiffle ball is a variation of the sport of baseball designed for indoor or outdoor play in confined areas. The game is played using a perforated, light-weight, resilient plastic ball and a long, typically yellow, plastic bat.

Basically, the only rules we follow are that the teams (each made up of half the playing group, with ages anywhere from 4 to 60 years old) are picked by Team Captains. And each team gets three outs while trying (desperately) to score, which necessitates an actual hit once in a while. While holding a beer.

If we play 5 innings, it’s A LOT.

After all that running around (with occasional cheating) we really rack up some hunger. Cue the menu!
